In June, ESSEGI AUTOMATION had the pleasure of welcoming six students from the third and fourth years of various local high schools as part of a PCTO program – Pathways for Transversal Skills and Career Guidance.
This is a project we care deeply about, because we firmly believe that building a connection between the academic world and the business environment is essential for laying solid foundations – both for the younger generations and for a sector in constant evolution like ours.
During their time at our company, the students had the opportunity to experience the daily life of a workplace up close and to see how the knowledge they gain in school can be applied in a real industrial setting.
They were involved in activities across various strategic departments: from production to the technical office (R&D), as well as administration and marketing & communication.
They also gained insight into the software department, with a particular focus on the Application and Advanced Support teams.
In each of these areas, they were able to observe operational dynamics, understand workflows, ask questions, and actively contribute to small training tasks, always under the guidance of company tutors.
As a testimonial to the importance of this project, here is the feedback from one of the participants:

“During my internship, I was able to see how the world of work operates and gain hands-on experience. I learned a lot of new things that we wouldn’t normally cover in school. It was also very useful to be constantly involved in the activities and meetings, which helped me better understand what I might want to do in the future.”
Blessing, student
“[…] It was a truly valuable and interesting experience. I learned a lot, both from a technical and organizational point of view, and I had the chance to see up close how work is carried out in a well-structured environment. Thank you again for your support and collaboration.”
Gioele, student

Our goal was simple yet ambitious: to offer a truly meaningful learning experience, one that could enrich their academic journey while also conveying the passion and energy that drive our daily work.
We are convinced that initiatives like this represent a true investment in the future: they help young people find their direction, enhance the value of the local territory, and build a real bridge between education and industry.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to the schools, teachers, and of course the students themselves, for the curiosity, dedication, and energy they brought to the company.
And who knows – maybe one day we’ll see some of them again… as part of the ESSEGI AUTOMATION team!
